To continue my topic of overindulgence, I went to Gordon St Garage yesterday to have some late lunch. It’s located in West Perth, 16 Gordon Street. If you’re travelling from the city, you can take a free CAT bus. Just hop on the Yellow CAT and get off at Water Town. Just be aware that it might get really crowded on the bus.
This place is really huge and gorgeous. It has a few different seating areas, which I really love and it’s not that mismatch to send your head spinning. Clearly they’ve put a lot of thought into the design. All the areas blend in very well with one another. Look at how great those doodles look on the wall!
As I mentionned, I was late for lunch so the place was pretty empty when I got there, which meant my food got served well on time.
I had a hard time choosing between the margherita pizza and the grilled chicken salad, so to be fair I chose neither and ended up going for the steak sandwich – yeah that’s how I roll.
I can’t complain about the food. The steak was cooked just right and the tomato paste that came on the side gave it a welcome punch of acidity. It’s a good steak sandwich. I finished everything and I was full and satisfied. Also, I just love the design of this plate. It would even make a BigMac look posh!
And since this place is also a coffee shop, I couldn’t leave without having a flat white. Although I’m a sucker for caffeine, I should definitely try one of their juices next time.
If you’re in the area, you should pop in for some breakfast or lunch (or brunch) and they do dinner as well, so there’s no reason for you not to come. I’m pretty sure the place is bustling during the weekend, which could only add to the charm of this wonderful space.
