The truth is, even though we’re 2 days away from that time of the year, I’m still not in a Christmassy mood. Christmas to me is: snow, fireplace, dinner with family and hot chocolate.
It’s 35 degrees Celcius outside, I’m alone on the other side of the world and I’ll take aircon over fire any day now. I guess the only thing left is that hot coco, or make that a cold one instead. The thing is, seeing a Christmas tree during Summer time is not something I’m used to, and I wonder if it’ll ever be.
I wish I could snap my fingers and be back in Europe for a hot second. Just to see the lights and Xmas decorations, hear the jingle bells and sniff some of that much needed family coziness. Yes, take me back! Take me back now (#sadface).
The reality is that I’ll be sweating my way through Xmas and New Years, alone. But I have decided not to be a frowner this year, so I have made a little list of all the fun things I could be doing. So here’s my list, let me know what you think:
1) Wake up at 4am to see the sunrise
Rise and shine! I thought I’d start the day with something super fun, and what’s more fun than waking up at 4 in the morning. I’m usually an early bird, but lol not THAT early! I’ll probably go straight back to bed after, or maybe just keep snoozing ^^
2) Have a record breaking gym session
Then to get rid of the sleepiness, I thought I might go and get a banging workout. My bet is that nobody will be at the gym anyway, so I’m planning to go full out and try all the machines!
3) Wear a Santa costume to the beach
Yasss! I totally want to do this. Stay tune to see if I make it.
4) Learn to play a Xmas song on the ukulele
I think I will try ‘Last Christmas’. I wanted to do Mariah Carey, but that is waaay out of my league.
5) Watch the sunset
To make the day come full circle, sunset is a must. If I’m still awake that is.
So there you go, 5 things to do for Xmas day. I’ll be working on Xmas eve, so if I decide to skip this list and sleep in, please forgive me. I promise, I’ll try harder next year.
PS: Don’t mind my badly drawn Xmas tree 🙂
